My Thanks to You

“Healthy plants and trees yield abundant flowers and fruits. Similarly, from a healthy person, smiles and happiness shine forth like the rays of the sun.” ~ B.K. S Iyengar

This quote is a potent reminder of the abundance of life we are blessed with in this season in Wallowa county. The young animals, the fresh vegetation, the increasing daylight, the snow that packs the mountain tops and feeds our rivers, streams, lakes, and bodies. There are many roads that lead to “health”; some that overlap, or re-direct, or meander, or take an unexpected detour, or are still being discovered and made ready for travel. The point is (and I have several) is that the buzzing of life all around us, the inspiring happenings in this county, and the abundance of your love is POWERFUL. By being exactly who you are, each and every one of you bring the importance of your experience, your perspective, your life story, and your heart to the giant table that feeds us all. As long as you keep showing up just as you are, we all thrive. Although there may be days when you feel like you are living under a personal rain cloud, may you look within to see the light that continues shining; through sorrow and heartache, through joy and inspiration, through contemplation and reflection. Whatever it is that brings the wealth of “health” into your life, indulge yourself! Explore, listen to the rushing rivers, breath, meditate, exercise, surround yourself with people you love, experience the greatness of healing hands, whatever it is, I hope you carve out space in your life to do what you love and to fill your cup. My final point (perhaps the 4th by now), is that each and every one of you, as a collective community, create abundance in my life. You inspire me, teach me, create space for me to have an open heart, and give back 10 fold what I give to you. So thank you. And if the road to health leads you to working the land, or raising livestock, or being in the backcountry, or spending time with family and friends, and not in yoga class for the next several months, go for it!! I often hear people beat themselves up because they “haven’t been to class in a while”. Yoga is one of many roads to health, and I am always here, but please don’t berate yourself if life takes you off of your mat for a while. I will welcome you with open arms when you return 🙂
